Ginny's blog. It's a cute blog to visit too.
I haven't gotten too far with my reading. It won't take long to finish this reader for Silje school next year. I just spent some time organizing her school books and was surprised how huge some of her readers are. I know I purchased for her the 4-5th grade readers, and I have no doubts that she can read them. It's just dawning on me that I won't be able to read all of them before school starts. They're so much longer than last year's (thank goodness!) and I may not be able to keep up with what she is reading and will have to rely on the "notes" that Sonlight gives me. Oh well. There are worst things.
David has been needing some more one on one time lately so I started reading aloud to him Stuart Little. I was planning on saving that as a read aloud for him for kindergarten this next year, but when do I follow my plan anyway? He seems to need this time with me now, and so this fall I'll have to find a new read aloud book for him. I've never read a book this "hard" to him before and although he is following along and understanding the story, I think he likes snuggling with me on the recliner more than the book itself.
Since we spent some more time at the lake, I got a chance to get a lot done on the "Dirk" sweater. I tried it on Elias to make sure the head and arm holes are big enough. I love top down knitting! It's supposed to be a very masculine looking boy sweater. I'm sure Elias will like it when it is done. For now he hated that the circular needle was still in and it was very much unfinished. I'm planning on making up the pattern in several boy sizes, so David will probably end up with one too. This is just the prototype.
Don't worry, buddy. It will look and feel much better when it is done.
He'll like it...eventually.
So, anyone want to suggest a caption for this lovely photo of my Elias in his unfinished sweater?
