So here's what's up.
Today we'll be harvesting all of our edamame beans in the garden, as well as blanching and freezing them. I don't know if I've ever even eaten one before, but Knut wanted to grow some in the garden this year. He said their great for stir fry. Since we have stir fry about once a year, I wasn't sure if they deserved a whole row in the garden. I'm pretty sure he's trying to tell me something.
Silje's having a friend over all day today so she's super excited. So I made her clean up the toy room and her room so I'm super excited. I celebrated by cleaning all the floors in the house. There's something about all clean floors in the house that makes me feel not so behind.
I started another book last night. Knut's been trying to get me to put down the projects and just take the time to read. He knows it feeds my soul...like writing. He knows I'm happier when I'm doing that too. If you haven't noticed, I've tried to do a little writing everyday. I'm planning a whole post reviewing the book later, so I'll spare you the details now. Let me just say that there's a part of my brain that I forget was there that comes alive again when I read books that involve words with more than 2 syllables. It's exciting. I even took out a pencil and started underlining and making notes in the margins. It's like I'm in college again for a few blissful moments, but minus that caffeine buzz and open containers of chocolate frosting. I've matured now. I eat Nutella.
Solveig is pulling up to a stand. Since she's just learned how to do this, she is doing it all the stinkin' time. She's way more mobile than any of the other kids were at this age, and is starting to take shorter naps, and getting up more often at night. If she didn't have such a pleasant personality and adorable smile I may just be annoyed at that.
She's also been having poop issues, or lack thereof. They are now resolved. She's been spending the last 2 days rectifying that situation and I sure hope she's feeling better now. Yup, just blogged about poop.
I'm spending too much time thinking of more ways to spend money for school this next year. (aka online shopping.) There are too many cool things out there. I'm afraid all my kids may be getting educational toys for birthdays/Christmas this year.
I'm thinking about doing a toy purge very soon. I'd like to cut what we have in half...again.
I should be getting ready for this weekend when we gather around a campfire under the stars with Knut's huge extended family and sing about a hair on a flea on a wart on a frog on a bump on log in a hole in the bottom of the sea and other songs of that variety. I'm too busy nervously going over again and again my lesson plans for the first week and organizing the school stuff over and over.
