Yarn Along

Well, I'm dutifully finishing up my "Post Cardigan."  I reach this point when the end is in sight, and my eyes turn to the next project, and I'm consumed with thoughts of the next project.  I'm a terrible finisher in attitude, but I'm trying to work on disciplining myself to finish.

As for reading, I have my little book study tomorrow night at my house again, as we're reading through Desperate together, which is a new book out for moms.  Really, it's some mom's like me getting together and chatting just because it's good for the soul, and if we get to the book, than that's awesome. So far I love the ladies who are coming over, and I'm really looking forward to them coming again.  Valentine's Day isn't stopping any of us!

I should get to finishing up this week's chapter today, as I actually got to sleep last night!!!  Ingrid has been sleeping with Knut and I pretty much since she's been born.  I don't sleep well when she's with us, but I don't sleep at all when she's in her cradle, so you get to a "take what you can get" point.

I know some people are die hard co-sleepers with their kids, and others fear it is not safe.  Sometimes the healthiest thing for the family is sleep.  I've experienced such a range of sleeping habits with my kids that I'm on the belief that as a mother, you do what you gotta do, you know?  Whatever gets you sleep.

The most I've ever gotten her to sleep in her cradle alone has been 30 minute segments.  Last night I laid her down in her cradle at 11:30pm, and she didn't stir until  5:15am.  It was the deepest sleep I've had in months, and I feel good!  That has nothing to do with knitting or reading, but I felt it still should be proclaimed.  Usually when she's sleeping with us she wants to nurse around 4:30, and that's all.  So she sleeps well...as long as someone is holding her.  A long stint by herself was just lovely.  I could get used to that.

Once again, I'm linking up with Ginny with her weekly Yarn Along party.

I totally agree - whatever works for your family so that you get some sleep, you should do it! Your sweater looks so warm. Have a great time at your book study!

I love the color of the sweater! Also, you just brought back memories of when you were little and I got one of my first really good nights of sleep. I still remember! Hopefully this trend will continue! Enjoy your book study!

Kudos on the sleep. Mine generally cosleep but I like to listen to their sleep patterns because each is ready for their own space in their own time.

I understand what you mean about being a terrible finisher. I always start daydreaming about new projects long before I finish my current project!

My little one is a snuggler too. He sleeps the best in the crook of my arm or close enough where he can see one of us if he happens to peek his eyes open in the middle of the night.

Beautiful sweater. I tend to have a much tougher time starting a big project than I do finishing.
